The Dane County Area Architecture Youth Apprenticeship is available to students during their senior year. Interested students should apply during the second semester of their junior year.

Course Information
Courses are taken at the local high school. Recommended courses for the year include:
Drafting & Design I & II
Drawing & Design
If a student has taken these or other similar architecture – related courses, please call the Dane County office. Other course option are available through Madison Area Technical College.
Worksite
Architecture worksites are difficult to come by. The Dane County office will attempt to find a position, however we hope to be assisted by the local school district, parent / guardian, and the student.
450 hours of work experience is required to earn the State Skills Certificate.
General Information
Students should plan to have at least a two – hour block of release time to work in the afternoon. Students who work in the morning should plan to have at least a three – hour block of release time.
