What did you love about YA?
I loved how many opportunities I had to learn about my future area of work as well as the fast-paced work environment. I felt like I got to get a well-versed vocabulary and experience from my time working during my youth apprenticeship.
How did YA influence your plans after high school?
My plans did not change my future after high school but more so solidified that I was pursuing the correct field of work. I learned how much I loved the pharmacy and its workflow and how my future goals fit into that career.
What do you want others to know about YA?
The YA program offers so much experience for students to dip their feet into what they think their future careers might entail. I learned so much from this program and am so thankful for it because it offered not only experience in my area of interest but amazing talking points and examples for interviews that I am currently having as a graduate of pharmacy school. Many areas of work equate to a smaller world than you would think it does, and this apprenticeship gives many contacts and references for future use beyond the year of the program.
